Cruising CY 2007
Palma, Majorca, Balearics, Spain July 2007
This is our second visit to Palma, having been here once before in 2003. We had very positive memories of Palma and Majorca. We had rented a car and drove about the island, mostly exploring the northern and western reaches of the island. This time, we spent a more leisurely time exploring Palma itself. We can summarize Palma this way: It is a miniature version of Barcelona with a population of 350,000 (While Barcelona has a population of 2 million in the city itself and 8 million including the surrounding suburbs. There are other elements that differentiate Palma from Barcelona, namely, the streets are clean, there is more flora and fauna which is more attractively arranged and presented, there is a lot less crime and peddling, and the people who have dogs appear to respect the pooper scooper ethic. We were in Palma for one week and decided that next season we will come back again.
Dakare can be seen in the chart in the upper right of the harbor
at Pier 46. It is a wonderful location central to and the nearest to Old
Town Palma across from the Cathedral
