Both John's are accomplished sailors with lots of off-shore experience. When John Buxton first joined us in 2003 for our crossing from Bernuda to the Azores, we, in keeping with the humor of the movie Captain Ron, dubbed him, Swab. His sense of good humor played along with the role and we all had a good time playing with the theme. This trip, with a new John in toe and having elevated John Buxton to the rank of Mate during the Azores trip, we gave John Lubimir the rank of Swab. We all had some good laughs and dispite the friendly competition between the 2 Johns, who were good friends prior to (and I am happy to say - after) this trip, John Lubimir stood up to his rank admirably, although he did need some training to repsond properly to "Swab, get some cold brewski's!")
