mosquito.  We were told that up until the 1960's the mosquitoes on the island were so bad that they could carry away a cow.  Then, a British entrepeneur bought the plantation and the surrounding land and moved his family to Mustique.  Several years later the idea occured to him that there was a market for a truly first class resort island.  Thus was born the Mustique as we know it today.  The musquitoes and other flying insects seem to  be under control and now most residents leave their windows and patio doors open to the cool island breezes.</div> </tD> </tR> <tR> <tD VALIGN=TOP HEIGHT= been purchased.</div> <bR> <div> While we were there in the middle of the summer, the trade winds were blowing.  They are fairly constant and help keep the island cool.  Nights are particularly
